Two generations of entrepreneurs have contributed to the success of Viandes Riendeau Ltée. Founded by Pierre Riendeau in 1960, the company made deliveries of food products to butchers and markets in the northern neighbourhoods of the metropolis. After moving the business to Repentigny, its founder diversified his services by adding a product line aiming at meeting the needs of sugar shacks.


Pierre Riendeau’s son, Eric, joined the company in 1986 as a driver, learning the tricks of the trade from his father. He successively held the positions of sales manager and purchasing manager, thus increasing the company’s sales figures.


Viandes Riendeau Ltée settled in the heart of Repentigny’s industrial neighbourhood in 1989, increasing tenfold the area occupied, thereby being able to server a larger client base. Sales continued to grow in the years that followed. In 1990, during the pre-retirement of his father, Eric Riendeau took over the presidency of Viandes Riendeau Ltée, and with his father’s help, prepared a diversification and expansion plan of the company.


In 1997, construction of a 25,000 square-foot building began in Le Gardeur, allowing storage, processing, distribution and transportation of fresh and frozen products. The building was inaugurated in November 1998. Unfortunately, Pierre Riendeau did not see this new construction because he passed away in August 1995.


Since opening at its new location, Viandes Riendeau Ltée has continued its development by computerising the accounting department, by working on establishing a computerised inventory management system and by implementing accredited Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points certification (HACCP).


A born visionary, Eric continuously diversifies by offering his clients transportation and storage services, by acquiring a pork processing plant in Laval and various commercial rental properties. By surrounding himself with conscientious people, he masterfully accomplishes his goals and offers the most comprehensive products and services.
